How to do it

  1. Confirm the complete washer and accepted manual. The monthly door-seal procedure is on p. 33 of MFL71693702, p. 38 of MFL70701250 or p. 40 of MFL71728979 in the cataloged editions.
  2. Empty the drum, unplug the washer and keep children and pets away. Read the current cleaner label and the exact manual’s dilution before preparing anything. Wear the prescribed rubber gloves and protective goggles and ventilate the area.
  3. Follow only the approved diluted-solution and soft-cloth method around the accessible seal. Never apply undiluted bleach, mix cleaning chemicals, remove the seal or force hidden parts. If the label and manual cannot both be followed safely, ask the manufacturer for guidance.
  4. Wipe up moisture with a dry cloth. Allow the seal to dry as the manual directs while preventing child or pet access. Restore the appliance safely and record completion.
