How to do it

  1. Confirm the exact electric dryer, accepted manual and previous exhaust-system service date.
  2. Arrange qualified inspection and cleaning of the exhaust duct and outside hood, including lint that prevents the hood flaps or louvers from opening fully.
  3. Ask service to reconnect the duct correctly and verify unobstructed airflow. Address poor airflow or unusual heat immediately rather than waiting for the calendar date.
  4. Record completed exhaust work. This requirement does not add internal-cabinet cleaning; keep each-load lint-filter care separate and follow the exact manual for any other work.

Stop and get help when

  • Burning odor or overheating
  • Longer drying times or poor exhaust airflow
  • Damaged, disconnected or inaccessible duct

Use qualified dryer service for duct isolation, cleaning, reconnection and airflow checks. Do not dismantle the appliance or improvise duct repairs.
