How to do it
- Check the exact model, serial applicability, and air-filter type in the confirmed mower and engine manuals. Use the correct replacement part.
- Prepare the stopped, cooled mower exactly as directed, including ignition isolation. Open only the owner-serviceable air-filter housing specified by the manual.
- Follow the manual to replace the filter while keeping dirt out of the intake. Do not wash a paper element, use a different engine procedure, or apply this task to a battery mower.
- Refit the filter and cover securely before restoring the mower to use. Record the replacement; dusty conditions can require earlier service.
Stop and get help when
- Damaged air-cleaner housing or contaminated intake
- An unidentified filter, unsafe access, or engine running problems
Use a qualified mower servicing dealer if the engine/filter type is uncertain, access is unsafe, or parts are damaged.
